I should have known. This weekend was bright and warm and barbecues sprouted liked the azaleas in our yard. So it's no surprise that the legendary Red Hook Ball Fields started up (a week later than first expected). Nina Lalli of the Village Voice was there, and filed this report:
"All our old friends were there, but the stalls had relocated to the inside of the park's gate. This made for a slightly hilly setting, but also more of a picnic atmosphere. The reason for the move was the sidewalks have just been redone. The vendors we talked to liked the new setup, but it's up to the city whether they'll stick with it."
Nina liked the grilled steak tacos & the pupusas. I dream of the huaraches and ceviche.
